Yakub Memon- Hanged to Death

  On July 30, 2015, at around 6.30 AM, the Nagpur Central Jail witnessed the hanging of Yakub Abdul Razak Memon, an Indian terrorist and chartered accountant, who was convicted over his involvement in his 1993 Bombay bombings by Special Terrorist and Disruptive Activities Court on 27 July 2007. He was the brother of one of the prime suspects in the bombings, Tiger Memon. His appeals and petitions for clemency were all rejected and was executed by hanging on his 53rd birthday His case was one of the boiling topics of debate in the recent past. People from different strata of the society had different opinions on the matter. ഒരു ഗുൽമോഹർ പോലെ

        ഗുൽമോഹർ പൂക്കൾ പന്തലണിയിച്ച ആ കലാലയ കവാടത്തിനു മുൻപിൽ നിൽക്കുമ്പോൾ അവൾ 25 കൊല്ലം മുൻപ് വിരിഞ്ഞ  ഗുൽമോഹറിന്‍റെ  നിറവും പ്രൌഡിയും ഓർത്തുപോയ്. ഒന്നിനും ഒരു മാറ്റവുമില്ല. യൗവ്വനത്തിന്‍റെ തുടിപ്പിന്നും ആ പൂക്കളിൽ കാണാമായിരുന്നു. അവളുടെ മുൻപിൽ തലയുയർത്തി പിടിച്ചു നിൽക്കുന്ന കെട്ടിടത്തിനൊരു തണലായിട്ടെന്നും ആ മരം അവിടെയുണ്ടായിരുന്നു, ഇന്നും അതവിടെ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു. വെറുമൊരു കെട്ടിടമല്ല ഇത് , ഈ കവാടത്തിനപ്പുറത്തെ ജീവിതം ആസ്വദിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളവരുടെ ജീവന്‍റെ ഒരംശമാണീ കെട്ടിടം. ജീവിതത്തിന്‍റെ ചെറുതും വലുതുമായ പടികൾ കയറുമ്പോളെല്ലാം തണൽ നൽകിയതിനും, ഒഴിവുനേരങ്ങളിൽ ഓർത്തെടുത്ത് മന്ദഹസിക്കാൻ കുറെയേറെ ഓർമ്മകൾ സമ്മാനിച്ചതിനും ഇവിടെനിന്നു പടിചിറങ്ങിയവരെന്നും കടപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കും ഈ കെട്ടിടത്തിനോട്.         അവൾ നടന്നടുത്തു , മുഖത്തൊരു  വേവലാതിയുണ്ട്.  എന്തൊക്കെയോ  ആലോചിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള ആശങ്കകളും ചോദ്യങ്ങളും അവളുടെ മനസ്സിൽ കടന്നുകൂടിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ആ ചിന്തകളിൽ നിന്നവൾ മോചിതയായത്  പരിചിതമായൊരു ശബ്ദം കേട്ടിട്ടാണ് - ഒരു കൂട്ടം വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളുടെ ശബ്ദ...

A TRIP THAT HATCHED FROM NOWHERE

After a year of procrastination and lazing around, I finally sit in front of the system to pen down the best and cheapest trip of my life so far. Yeah! It was my life in Hyderabad that made me realize how much I love to travel and it makes me relieve of the tensions of submissions, dissertation, exams and the biggest concern about the uncertain future. But before diving to the story of my trip, let me be clear about what is my idea of traveling. For me, it is nothing but a change of surroundings, scenes and people. Be it to a nearby city or a district or a state, it should offer something new and take me from the monotony.  So, here we go..... What do girls in a hostel do more often?
